That’s the feeling Osiris Rain evokes with his abstract mural, "Roots and Wings." Tucked behind Dulaney Wine and Spirits, this vibrant work of art bursts with life, color, and imagination. Rain uses bold hues and dynamic patterns to deliver a mural that captures the beauty and energy of nature. His hope is that people “leave with a renewed sense of belonging—to their environment, their community, and the rich heritage of Towson.”
"The mural reflects the ecosystems of the Towson area," says Rain, "weaving together local flora and fauna into an abstract design that symbolizes the interconnectedness of life." A teal-colored blue crab, a flower in bloom, and an insect in flight are just a few of the elements that seamlessly flow together, creating a vivid tapestry of color and movement.
Rain’s vision extends beyond aesthetics. He wants viewers to approach the mural with curiosity, finding new surprises with every visit.
"My goal was to create something that feels fresh every time someone sees it," he explains. Each visit reveals hidden elements—a ship’s wheel, a butterfly, or other intricate details waiting to be discovered. The mural encourages exploration, inviting visitors to stop, look closer, and engage with it time and again.
